Wow. Thanks for putting this together for the US forums.

Started collecting bits for the set but seeing how much I really need is sorta shocking.

Locklay is...certain death. 77 meats? Jesus.

Much respect to the guys with 3-4 pieces of the Lyk set. They earned it.

The insane gear-modding feature has that one-percent spending oodles of cash regardless of whether they can do the content without it. Why? Because RoM created an awesome system that lets players become as super-powered as they see fit. There are already groups of players that can down Manticos in as fast as five seconds. That's far above what's needed to be able to experience that level of content.

You're welcome and this is just preliminary. Members in the guild I'm in are working on completing a full set, so when I get that information regarding drop rates etc... I'll add to the guide. :)

its 100% drop rate on each of the items but the respawn on the elites is a bit longer than normal mobs

Actually, they are already a multitude of guides for this going back months ago but many people refuses to use the "Search" function :P

As for this set, must people that starts it, ends it long before they get anything, being the farming is just utterly nuts. They are always people interested but I have yet to see someone with a full set walking about.

Getting these pieces is a lot of work and politics, let me tell you! We're almost done getting a full set for the 9 core players in our guild. We took a detour this last week and got all of us our 50/50 elites, so in between farming for moa cores in clops now, I'm hoping we can finish everyone's set.

The main things that help in farming these is timing the respawns on the bosses so you can get there as they respawn and communicating with other groups trying to farm them. Everyone gets a lot more done if you are willing to share the spawn with people instead of camping it all the time. Otherwise people will just start trying to steal it from you. Yes, I've had a lot of arguments and even fought a couple of wars over Ice Burst, let me tell you! hehe. Just be respectful to others and they'll usually return the favor. Good luck to everyone going for the set!

Can't even wrap my brain around killing those clops crowns 86 times. I mean...86 times? Sweet mother of mercy.

This reminds me of the Bravado bard armor set in Everquest that was put in when Shadows of Luclin went live. To get the entire set, which I don't know if anyone ever did or not, required a minimum of 6 months invested in farming the mobs for the pieces you needed to make it. In three months I managed to complete two pieces of the 8 piece set. I will say that if anyone worked hard to get a full suit kudos for a job well done. :)

How many lower levels were pushed aside so 50's could camp that stuff?

Not every level 50 is polite when you're camping an area for cards/items/exp and there's ONE npc with an item for their level 50 armor quest.

Sometimes they'll just area blast everything to make it spawn no matter if it's camped or not.

I'm really not sure what you mean here. The only bosses that share a spawn with regular mobs are the Scaloks and the Rune guy. Every other elite that drops an item for the Black Codex set is on a timer, so no one kills mobs nearby to make it spawn. The scaloks and the rune enemies have very quick quests associated with them and there's a lot of them, so I can't imagine a level 50 camping them so badly that you can't complete the quest.

I know when I camp mobs like that, I invite lower levels to the party and tell them just to follow me and loot their quest item. I helped about 5-6 people finish their Ice Witch quest when I was farming for that dang item for the 50/50 elite. They didn't even ask. I just invited them when they walked up and started killing them. I'm sure most high levels would at least invite you if you asked. It's really no trouble to them as long as you loot your items and don't leave corpses lying around.

Yeah, I dont understand SailorDh's post. It's not like low levels are going to be aggroing Peaceful Angore or the Koblold crowns as part of some daily. I can't think of any quests other than the Lyk set quests that require killing those crowns.

Don't really get that post.

Zadozex is OTM here.

I think he's referring to the other elites you need, which are in open areas and aren't level fifty. The scalock and rune guardian elites only spawn when you kill a bunch of regular mobs. The goat horn and gnoll elites are timed spawns, so there's no farming of low-level mobs involved.

Hm. Well, I think there are plenty of trash mobs around for the scaloks. Its a pretty big area to be honest. Can't recall any quest involving kill x amount of the guardians though.

For the most part, Reifort is empty. :P

Got my Black Codex Gloves 2 days ago. Its beyond mind-numbing farm fest. I will probably continue to farm for at least one more piece for the +200 hp bonus. After that I really dont think so.

Does the Clops Battlewolf Commander crown near the ramp to the stronghold also drop eyeballs?

Got my vote for sticky :) I think we need something like this under the guides section so when people are ready to do the runs, they can easily find this...

Here's a link to the guide my friends and I used back when Dragonfang was still in Chinese. Best of luck to everyone obtaining these, it indeed took a VERY long time, especially if rotating between 10+ people. But I promise it'll pay off at the end (or at least before cap raise ;P)!

The NPC you turn in everything is a Black Codex guy standing in Lyk by the arch over the road leading out of town.
