Beginner's guide to Arcane Transmutor

A more detailed and illustrated version of this guide can be found at http://evilkittens.prophpbb.com/topic4.html

Since the game just went open beta I thought it would be helpful to post a short guide on how the Arcane Transmutor works.

THING TO KNOW BEFORE HAND:
1) You need 1 charge per use of the transmutor. You can get charges for the tranmutor by exchanging 3 tokens in the class hall in Vanaras City. You get tokens from completing daily quests. You get daily quests from the bulletin boards.
2) Power stones can be bought from an NPC in Vanaras City on the West side. They are also dropped but rarely.

GETTING STARTED:
In order to get to the arcane transmutor, you open your backpack (press B) and click on the treasure chest icon one the bottoms of the "backpack" window.

In this window is where all the upgrading will take place. Here's what you can do:
-If you combine 1 power stone, with 1 equipment, you get 1 mana stone that's the tier level of the equipment. The stats from the weapon are transferred to the mana stone (Thanks to Horos). DO NOT USE THE EQUIPMENTS YOU WILL USE, AS THESE WILL BE LOST. Notice the preview of the stone show at the bottom? That's what you will get.

- If you have 3 mana stones, you have 2 choices:

a) Combine 3 mana stones with 1 equipment. The 1 equipment you use will inherit ONLY 6 of the attributes (along with the tier level) from the 3 manastones.
YOU WILL GET THIS EQUIPMENT BACK WITH 6 ADDED ATTRIBUTES. ASSIGN THE RUNES BEFORE USING THE WEAPON IF RUNES ATTRIBUTES ARE DESIRED.

b) Combine 3 mana stones of the same tier to get a mana stone of the next tier. [pictures coming soon]

When the combination is right, a preview will be shown at the bottom of the transmutor screen.

Summary:
- 1 power stone + 1 equipment = 1 mana stone with equipments tier level
- 3 mana stones + 1 equipment = 1 equipment with 6 attributes for mana stones. [Remember: stones and equipment have to be same tier]
- 3 mana stones of the same tier = 1 mana stone 1 tier level higher

USING THE ARCANE TRANSMUTOR TO MAKE RUNES:
There are two ways to make runes using the Aracane Transmutor:
1- combining 2 runes of the same tier will give you a rune with different attributes of the same tier
----A list of rune pairing can be found here.

2- combining 5 runes of the same type and tier will give that same rune at a tier 1 level higher

Bonus: After doing this, you can upgrade more by adding runes to the weapons, and even more using the upgrade jewels.

Where do mana stones come from

Where do you get the mana stones from or how do you make them?

Buy a Power Stone from the NPC. Take the Power Stone and any weapon/armor. Put them in Transmutor. Preview the resulting Mana Stone. Confirm or Cancel Transmutation.

I would like to point out a way to SAVE Tokens if you are creating Tier II or Tier III runes from the lower runes.

Like likwidsage says above 5 runes of one tier will make the next tier or

10 will make 2 of them - cost (1) token
15 will make 3 of them - cost (1) token
20 will make 4 of them - cost (1) token
etc...

This also works for the combining of 2 different runes.

1 rune A + 1 rune B = 1 Rune C - cost (1) token
2 rune A + 2 rune B = 2 Rune C - cost (1) token
3 rune A + 3 rune B = 3 Rune C - cost (1) token
etc...

Also note that from my experience (all runes created in the transmutor become BOUND to you).

ive tried this, and its FALSE, as of version 1802 your arcane transmutator will indicate the necesary charges for your current transmutation, so 20 runes of the same type will give 4 tier 2 runes and cost 4 charges. its says so himself and you better belive him, as i spent my charges to make sure.

I'm pretty new to the game but I have a question about this...

Say I'm a priest. I can't wear leather, but I have a mana stone made from a pair of leather gloves...

If I mana stone my staff with that mana stone, will I be able to use it ?

In short my question is : can any char use any item to mana stone an item ?

Good job on the guide :)

This thread tinyurl'd so you can send it in zone chat to everyone and their mother who spams How I can use Arcane Transmutor every 3 seconds in zone chat, because 90% of the mmorpg playing population of the world don't know what google is or could never fathom actually reading a game forum.

the mana stone can be made from anything even something ripped off a plate and it wont matter what you put it on it destroys the item when you make the mana stone.

at

When you combine the stones with armor wep anything it destrys the item and takes the stats from it not the type of item.. it doesnt care if it was plate chain leater cloth. The type isnt transfered just the stats

This part confused me a little. What difference if any is there between adding the runes before transmuting with the mana stones, and adding them later?

And does using a jewel to gain a +1 have that much effect, and is there any issue between doing this step first or last?

There is no difference. You dont lose rune slots or anything like that after its been enhanced. And using jewels for the +1 can result in either a meaningless and trivial boost to its base attributes (like phys atk, mag atk, p def or m def) or it unlocks a hidden attribute that DOESN"T count against the the 6 bonuses rule. For example I have a shoulder piece that when boosted to a +3 also gives me a +8 to STA.

In the guide it says an item will get 6 stats plus the tier of the 3 mana stones meaning a tier 1 item combined with 3 tier 2 mana stone will get 6 stats and be tier 2. Later it says the item and the 3 mana stones have to be the same tier. Which is it?

Something that I found very important to know (I think this guide mentions it but it really should be emphasized) is that when creating mana stones using a fusion stone (the ones you buy from the NPC enchanter) and an item, the resultant mana stone is the same tier as the item.

So let's say you want to create a tier 3 mana stone. There's 2 ways to do it... 1) create three tier 2 mana stones and transmute them (very expensive); OR 2) transmute a tier 3 item with a fusion stone.

I tried to use the arcane transmutor, but it said I needed a Fusion stone. It didn't say anything about a Power Stone. Also, the NPC that let me trade in the tokens for Transmutor charges did not sell these Fusion stones. Are Fusion stones the same as Power stones? And what NPC do I buy them from?

Fusion stones can be bought in the cash shop, they can also be exchanged for the daily tokens (1200 for 1 stone).

Press / then click the Bierdine Token shop. Then on the left side click the upgrade(ing) tab.

Hey, I just wanted to clear up some confusion for ya. In the help section contained within the Arcane Transmuter (this is probably what you were looking at) it mentions "Fusion Stones". Yes, it's actually talking about Power Stones. When someone in game mentions Fusion Stones, they are usually referring to the cash shop item Purified Fusion Stones (basically Power Stones with no stats). Otherwise based on the help section's description when it says Fusion Stones, just substitute that under normal circumstances for Power Stones.

Power Stones can be purchased at an NPC called the "Enchanter". You can find an Enchanter in Varanas, in the West Wing on the left of the House NPC by the stairs. The Enchanter looks like a Mage and will be next to two other NPCs (a Disenchanter and a Refining Master). The NPC Enchanter's name in Varanas is Odeley Prole. Her coordinates are (28.9, 46.1)

By the way, Power Stones comes in three varieties. They are:

12k+ gold Power Stones: Gives you two stats that you can see and 1 random stat.

5k+ gold Power Stones: Gives you 1 stat you can see and two random additional stats.

1k+ gold Power Stones: Gives you 3 completely random stats.

Edit: Just found out it seems that in a recent patch, they've finally changed the name of "Power Stones" officially to "Fusion Stones". So from this point on it seems Power Stones are now known as Fusion Stones in game in shops. They did a similar thing when they changed the name of "Bierdine Tokens" to "Phirius Tokens".

I thought I'd just pop in add my thoughts to this thread:

When buying power stones from the NPC you really only have two sensible options, buying either:
- 12k gold stones with 2 set stats (eg. Str II, Might I) with 1 random stat
or;
- 5.6k gold stones with 1 set stat (eg. Agi I) with 2 random stats

Now, the best stones you can possibly hope for when buying the 12k stones are straight Str II/Might I stones, where the randomly added stat turned out to be either Str II or Might I - and thus overlapping in the same way when creating transmuted equipment.

However, the 5.6k stones can quite quickly yield half a dozen double-statted stones (eg. Agi I, Life I) - where either the first or second randomly added stat matched the base stat, or each other.

The best part, although rarer, but very possible, is creating a single stat stone (eg. Agi I) - where both random stats happened to be the same as the original.

Conclusion: spending half the gold on single-stat base stones can yield better stones in the long run.

Hope this helps some people out :D
