Stating with fail stats

When statting a piece of gear, it takes on the stat level of whatever mana stones you use on it last. For example, if your fusion stones are t6 the piece of gear will become t6. Using clean stats to tier a piece is expensive, and so we have to resort to the magic of fail stats!

What is a fail stat?
fail stats are stats people dont want to use. most /pdef /medf stats, sometimes ill even use dex/hp str/hp stats as fails. For the purpose of this guide, you only want to use stats of the highest level. At the time of writing, the highest level stats are bygone/eternity. Hero/glory stats wont work.

Why cant we use hero stats?
When you are statting and have more than 6 stats that try to occupy a mana stone or piece of gear, the higher level stats get pushed off by lower level stats. For example. If you combine 3 mana stones, two with castle stats, one with bunker stats, the resulting fusion stone would have all castle stats on it. The bunkers would be pushed off. When we fail stat, we use this knowledge to our advantage.

To fail stat, we make all of our good stats into one or two mana stones. Since I use 6 t5 stats (hero+ stats) I combine my stats into two t6's with 3 stats on each. To stat a piece of gear, I would need one more t6. My last t6 is a "fail" t6. Any stats will work on here, but I usually use stats that no one else wants, like int/def dex/mdef etc. They are all bygone/eternity stats. I take 3 of them and combine them into one t6 with fail stats on it.

When you go to stat a piece, make sure your fail stone is in one of the BOTTOM two slots of the arcane transmutor. Then put the good stats in the TOP two slots. If you are statting a piece of gear, put the piece of gear in the MIDDLE slot.

If you want to see why the slots matter, switch one of the good stones with one of the fail stones, and look at the preview. The middle slot has the highest priority, followed by the top two, followed by the bottom two. If you swap the order in the AT, the stats of the same level will switch order on the preview.

You can combine fail stats and t7 t8 or t9 a piece. Just make sure to check your AT each time you do.

I had some screenshots for this guide, but they apparently all corrupt. For some reason I can no longer take screenshots. I will add some in as soon as I can either bully a friend into screenshotting the process for me, or after i re-install rom.

Nice :D, but I like Yoman's more :P

You can have 2 glor/bunker and make a t6 stone with 4 stats. That way you can do stam/def stam/def stam/def stam/def sta/pa sta/pa or whatever you want :D

I just wanted to add to this important guide :)

The AT chooses stats according to the following 3 rules/criteria:

1. Choose subset of 6 unique lowest level stats, if subset > 6 then go to rule #2
2. Choose subset by position in AT (1 being highest priority, 5 lowest). If subset > 6, go to rule #3:

2 3
.1
4 5
(excuse the crude image!)

3. Choose subset in order from top to bottom (visually) on any given stone/gear.

These 3 AT rules will help you with weird scenarios. I'll illustrate 2 that you'll likely run into:

The piece of gear has a fail stat: *I could have sworn i did this back in crimson/bunker days, but it was hard to achieve, but I cannot remember how I did it, maybe it never happened. If anyone knows, msg me. It had something to do with the AT instantiating a new piece of gear due to something. Could be just a bunch of hocus pocus though.

Piece of gear has a good stat
1. Place piece of gear in position 1
2. Place T6 stone with 3 good stats in position 2
3. Place T6 stone with 2 good stats, 1 fail stat in position 3 (bad stat at the bottom of the stone, which can be achieved by putting the fail T5 stat in position 5 when creating the T6 stone),
4. place T6 with 3 fail stats in position 4 or 5.
Double check your work with a buddy! I always link the preview to make sure my eyes are working correctly. Sometimes I get excited when I get a new piece of gear and screw it up.

Feel free to msg me or whisper me in Palenque (Odell) if you need help.

Cheers!

I didn't understand the other guide, thanks for making it clear (to me). Also thanks kynamdoan for adding the clear steps for gear that already has 1 good stat.

That's the most important line in the guide lol.

Otherwise you might end up with an Int/Mp on your tier 8 OD Chapeaunoir Boots *giggles*
(and nope, that wasn't me! I have a guildie who will NEVER live that down!)

I think the real problem with that is clean t8'ing chapeaunoir boots... not the fact that they did it wrong. :P

I had an example yesterday that illustrates rule #3 from kynamdoan above very nicely:

I was tiering trash stones. Green lvl 1 stats, starting with tier 4 and going up. Even though minuscule stats, may as well get the 6 best ones right?

So I made 3x t4 stones with ONLY the stats I wanted. But that ended up with only 5 stats on my t5 stone. I needed to make sure that the 6th stat ended up with exactly the one I wanted, even though many stats would be on the same stone with it.

So I made 2 more t5 stones and one of them with the stat I wanted to add at the top of the list of 6 stats. When combined properly with my earlier 5-stat t5 stone, I got a t6 with exactly the 6 stats that I wanted.
