The Spring Rain Festival Event NPCs have good, detailed information on each activity and quest; this guide regurgitates some of it but offers some additional information such as rewards, locations, and community hints. Just like all the other guides, all contributions are welcomed and encouraged!

Activities and Quests


Activity: Happy Digging
Activity Information NPCs: Titan Wabbit & Lily Wabbit

Description: You can participate in this activity three (3) times a day at 11AM, 4PM, and 8PM PST and it will be available for only one (1) hour. The start location is at Helen’s Farm (~59,65). There, you click on a wabbit and follow it. When it stops, click on each marked location to receive one of the randomized rewards listed below, then the wabbit will continue on to the next location. Rinse and repeat until it says it has completed.

NOTE: To avoid being interrupted and injured by the bombs, run away! :p Those players who live where daylight savings is observed will notice this event starts at 10AM, 3PM, and 7PM PST. This may be “ninja” fixed after a maintenance so watch for the server wide announcement spam ten (10) minutes prior to the event start times.

Also, even though there are only three rabbit guides named and visible, there are more than three active at a time. In other words, if you see the last one getting taken, don't bother, just wait a minute or two, and there will be two or three to choose from again, even though more than one is currently occupied. I'd like to urge people to try and stick to their own rabbit, and not horn in one someone else's -- all that does is reduce the rewards for both of you, and as I just said, you won't have to wait for one of the three to return before you will be able to get your own anyway, plus you have the whole hour, enough time for a half dozen runs easily (and that means close to two dozen crystals, enough for two turn-ins). Plus you can run the event three times a day, so that's potentially SIX rewards a day.

Ignore what one of the rabbits says about needing carrots, and don't spam-click the rabbits to try and get the first one -- there will be a system message that will tell you that they are ready to go, just be patient. When the magic circles appear, slowly move your mouse over a spot until the cursor turns into a pickaxe -- you don't need any tools for this, either. Just be forewarned that the clickable area is rather small, much like the elf island mailbox (FRUSTRATED GRUNT). Kill the slugs, dodge the bombs, collect the elixirs and potions, and you should be able to get at least three or four crystals per run.

Activity: Stolen Rainbow Eggs
Activity NPCs: Lina Wabbit & Nier Wabbit

Description: Head on over to the Hidden Valley Mines in Howling Mountains and go get those eggs back. Collect ten (10) Stolen Rainbow Eggs from a Goblin Egg Thief. Goblin Miners and Goblin Patrolmen are placeholders, so pretty much kill all the greenies. Turn in your collected Stolen Rainbow Eggs to either Lina Wabbit or Nier Wabbit to get your reward, and then do Activity: Petal Gathering.

Rewards:
- 3 x Earth Spirit Crystal
- 1 x Empty Magical Bag (used in Activity: Petal Gathering)

NOTE: This activity doesn’t require you to talk to an NPC to start it. 


Activity: Petal Gathering
Activity NPC: Gaia Wabbit

Description: After completing the Activity: Stolen Rainbow Eggs, head on over to the Rainbow Tree (~43,42) next to the spawn point in Logar. Once there “Hop” up the Rainbow Ladder until you reach the top and then fill your Empty Magical Bag. Turn in your Filled Magical Bag to Gaia Wabbit at the bottom of the tree.

Rewards:
- 3 x Earth Spirit Crystal
One of the following (random):
- Buff: Forget-Me-Not Dreamland (30% increase to riding speed for one (1) hour) [Pale Blue Petals]
- Buff: Chime Wood Dreamland (30% increase to riding speed for one (1) hour) [Yellow Petals]
- Buff: Azalea Blossom Dreamland (30% increase to riding speed for one (1) hour) [White Petals]
- Buff: Cherry Blossom Dreamland (30% increase to riding speed for one (1) hour) [Pink Petals]

NOTE: This activity doesn’t require you to talk to an NPC to start it. You may also complete this activity with Lina Wabbit or Nier Wabbit.


Activity: Bringing Back the Wabbits
Activity NPC: Kekai Wabbit

Description: Talk to Kekai Wabbit to start the activity, he’ll give you five (5) Empty Pet Boxes which you’ll use to collect Lost Wabbits around the outskirts of Silverfall. Once collected, head back to Kekai and exchange the five (5) Found Wabbits for your reward.

Quest: Jump! Jump! Wabbits!
Quest NPC: Danny Wabbit

Description: Deedee Wabbit paths close to the road by the Snoop in Silverspring to the fence right before Mike. When you get close enough to her, you’ll be turned into a tortoise and a counter will count up on the transformation buff icon. Get to sixty (60) seconds to complete the quest. Oh, did I mention that Deedee cheats? No? Well, you’ll need to stay close enough so the counter doesn’t reset while dodging traps (fear, slow, and stun) all while keeping up with the hare during her bursts of super wabbit speed.

Rewards: [36 EXP, 3 TP, 75 Gold]
- 3 x Earth Spirit Crystal
- 5 x Magical Wine (Restores 20% HP/MP)

Title: Tortoise is also a fleet-footed runner
- Follow Deedee for 150 seconds without interruption to receive this title.

NOTE: I found it easiest to dodge the traps by walking backwards in third person just in front of Deedee. I was fortunate when I got the title, because Deedee didn’t have a burst of speed within the 150 seconds. The traps and speed boosts are random, and one time I tried this event, she boosted more than three times and it took me more than ten seconds to catch up with a mount. In most cases, it will be luck rather than skill that gets you this novelty title. In my case it was luck!

Tip, do it in a raid. The rabbit only stuns, roots, slows, or fears one of you at a time. as long as you stay on it and in front of it, and he doesn't sprint twice in a row you should be able to get it. Although it took me probably an hour and a half to get the title.

I got up to 138 before my sprint ran out.

It's a title definitely worth the fun.

You just need to time your Spellweaver potion/house maid speed potion/god speed/Escape Artist perfectly.

If you mess one up you will lose Dee Dee at 110 - 130.

Activity: Big Egg Giveaway
Activity NPC: Ayester Bunni

Description: Help Ayester Bunni deliver three (3) Spring Rain Festival Rainbow Egg Pending Dispatch to Egg-Hiding Wabbits roaming around the roads outside of Dalanis.

NOTE: I've successfully used the Rainbow Egg Detector at (54.7, 58.7) next to the Snoop in Thrunderhoof Hills. An egg basket will appear, click it and you'll receive a Spring Rain Festival Rainbow Egg. Eating the egg grants you a random ten (10) minute buff and the possibility of an Intact Eggshell. Take the Intact Eggshells back to Ayester Bunni to receive an additional Rainbow Egg Detector for each eggshell returned.

Description: Jessica Bunni would like you to escort some wabbits home. Choose how many wabbits you want to run home - one (1), two (2), or four (4) wabbits, then run to the location(s) whispered to you and click on the Rabbit Hole to drop them off. Return for your reward when the time runs out.

NOTE: You will only get an Earth Spirit Crystal reward if you complete the activity, so choose one within your abilities until you get more familiar with their locations. The time required to take a wabbit home is dependent on how many you choose. The more wabbits you take, the less time you’ll have to take them home. I would recommend doing Activity: Petal Gathering before attempting this one, the 30% increase to riding speed will make it much easier. Also, don’t worry about getting too far ahead of the wabbits and losing them, they seem be permanently leashed to you until you get them home. Speed Mount Potions stack with the speed buff from Activity: Petal Gathering for even more speed!

General Spring Rain Festival Event Notes

You can exchange a Home-sweet-home Rune for a Spring Rain Festival Repeat Ticket with Lina Wabbit, Nier Wabbit, or Aywa Wabbit.

2011 2nd Anniversary Event Dates:
- April 20th to May 17th (~27 days of playable time or ~20 days if you want to end with the removal of the Frog Mania Buff)


In the continued celebration of Runes of Magic’s 2nd Anniversary, we have a special anniversary event. When you first log in with a character of level twenty (20) or higher, you’ll be given the Frog Mania Buff and one (1) Frog Celebration Certificate. For every following day you log in with the Frog Mania buff from the previous day still in effect, the counter will increase. As the counter increases, you receive Frog Celebration Certificates equal to the Frog Mania counter level. The Frog Mania has a max level of five (5), so you would receive five (5) Frog Celebration Certificates if you reach the max level.

NOTE: The buff can be refreshed any time after 5:00AM PST the following day, so pay close attention to the time you logged in. Example: You first log in and get the Frog Mania buff at 3:00PM PST Friday! The following day you login at 11:00AM PST, and YAY your buff is now at level two and you got two certificates. The third day you log in 11:05AM PST, but this time you only received one certificate and your buff has reset to level 1. You’ll have to make sure you log in earlier each day than you did the day before in order to maintain or increase your Frog Mania buff to max level, so plan accordingly. Don’t forget to try to compensate for maintenance days too.

I've followed my advice and even though I've logged in the same characters in the same order earlier than the previous day, sometimes the buff would reset on only 1. The last several days I've just tried to log-in before the next days daily resets and I haven't had one character's buff reset, so I don't get it. If anyone has experienced something similar or different please let us know!

If you want to extend the expiration date of the certificates, throw them in your storage chest in your house, or put it in your bank, then when you get your new certificates with the 15 days expiration date in your backpack, drop your older certificates (from your storage chest or bank) with the earlier expiration date on top of your new certificates...and it'd take on that new certificate's expiration date lol.

NOTE: While killing the frogs, why not get a few titles while you’re at it? Every time you kill a Magic Frog you’ll get the buff “You killed a frog!” which lasts for fifteen (15) seconds. Kill another Magic Frog within that time, and it will reset the fifteen (15) seconds and increase the counter by one. There are only six (6) novelty titles available in this event, so killing more than 100 Magic Frogs will only add to your bragging rights.

Activity: Frog Transformation
Activity NPC: Standler Luya

Description: Standler Luya will mention seven (7) Colored Fairies in a particular order for you to touch (get close to). This order is random, and changes each time you talk to Standler Luya. When you accept, you’ll be transformed into a frog for two (2) minutes. The fairies are spread out but they’re not too far and can be found within the two (2) minutes. Once the frog transformation expires, return to Standler Luya for your reward.

NOTE: If Simon Says wasn’t your favorite game, take a moment to write down the Colored Fairy order, but be careful - if the NPC wanders out of range you’ll have to talk to him again and the fairy order will change.

You may get the same Colored Fairy in a row, so after you get the message that the Fairy senses you, back off a bit and wait for the message to fade from your screen before hopping back to the Fairy to get it again.

To get 7 fairies easily, I figured to just keep talking to Standler & accept the quest only when you get an order that involves Yellow Fairy being the first fairy coz its the easiest one since it spawns right next Standler & Purple being the last fairy, coz that one spawns over the water & takes like crazy Mario skills to get rofl.

For those of you that still have trouble & want to get 3 potions, the easiest to access Fairies are Yellow (near the NPC) & Blue (side of Green's hill). Red (on top of it's own hill) & Green (on top of the hill that Blue is on the side of) are on top of 2 different hills, Green is faster to access if you have Blue in your visiting sequence next to each other. Purple is way out on it's own over the h20, so preferably you don't want that in the visiting sequence that Standler tells you, or you want that near Red since that's the only Fairy closest to it. Or you can be totally lazy & just keep talking to Standler until you get a super easy visiting sequence like: blue blue blue red yellow purple red... easy sequences leave you over 30 seconds remaining if you jump & miss a few times, about a minute remaining if you don't miss at all & reach the Fairy every time you jump.

Activity: A Magical Method of Disaster Aversion
Activity NPC: Sebastian

Description: Sebastian would like you to catch the Naughty Frogs in the area, but they’ll only talk to other frogs. Have no fear; Sebastian has an unbelievably realistic frog transformation that will last for ten (10) minutes. Once you have the Silly Frog Transformation go befriend some Naughty Frogs! Some will be Friendly Frogs, and this will make capturing them easier but others will not fall for your antics and become Angry Frogs. Those Angry Frogs will have a Frog Shield you’ll need to beat down before you can capture them, but don’t be too overzealous with your key smashing. Some of you out there may need to remove your weapons to keep from one-shotting it when the shield is used up. When the transformation ends, head back to Sebastian for your reward!

Where did you two use your Rainbow Egg Detector? I've used it everywhere I've seen a wabbit, even on top of wabbits, but I haven't had any luck yet. Either I've used up all my luck on the Tortoise title or I'm completely in the wrong spots.

The frogs, frog titles, and frog certificates are part of the 2nd Anniversary Event. Does the anniversary event typically coincide with the spring rain festival event? If so, I'll add a section for it too.
