Comprehensive Guide to Gift Bags

Hey there, playing RoM has been a great experience, however each level (or 5 levels respectively) gives you a new gift bag. Often, I find myself hoping i get something rather awesome to use, but I often cannot find information on what the contents of each new bag will be. So I hope to give all a comprehensive guide as to what the contents of each bag will be at each level.

**To clean up any confusion as to how to obtain each gift bag, all bags from level 1-30 contain the next bag in the sequence. Example: You get gift bag level 3 as you open gift bag level 2.**

To obtain the Level 35 - Sea of Snow Gift Bag, you are required to finish a quest chain, obtained from Joey Klongen in Harf Trading Post, of Ystra Highlands. In this chain you will also need to do quests for NPCs Laura Febrey at Khazor's Watchtower and a couple others before obtaining your reward.

**Bags 40, 45 and 50 are also obtained by opening the previous bag.**

Sticky!

There are two things I'd like to add, both questions...

When's the best time to open the rune giftbag? Is it totally random? Or should you just wait for level ten? (You forgot about that bag entirely, didn't you? ;) )

Second, if you don't open a bag at the appropriate level, do you lose it? This is a good one, because I've waited until say 9 or 10 on a bag I had for 8 and for the life of me, it won't open...Not that I care, the toons are doing well, but it would be helpful info...:)

I know that when you get your first giftbags, they make you open them right away, and that's prolly the reason...

No. I always save my bags until I'm 16/10, then I port over to Sascilia, open the bag (to get the 24 hour hourse, since Sascilia is huge, and I need to run to Obsidian Stronghold to open the Snoop Gate) and open them up to level 10 or 16 (depends on if I have a mana dependent class...I only open the bags on a class that uses mana if I have one, because I want the mana pots).

Anyway, I end up spam opening bags 10 or 16 times, so I'm quite certain that you can save it as long as you want. :)

Thank you very much for putting this together. This should be moved to the guides forum section.

Only one spelling mistake that I saw:

**To clean up any confusion as to how to obtain each gift bag, all bags from level 1-30 contain the next bag in the sequence. Example: You get gift back level 3 as you open gift bag level 2.**

It's a series of 5 quests that start with the Joey guy (at level 31, I believe). It's the only quest he'll give you.

You should add 2 things to this guide...

1) A warning that any bag you open that has a mount the time starts IMMEDIATELY the second the bag is opened.
(I have played around with putting mounts into bank, into bags it doesn't matter the timed countdown starts as you open the bag.)

2) All items that are able to be bought in the Cash Shop, but you get from a gift bag, can be moved out of your inventory into the Item Shop Backpack and out from your bank or regular 2 bags. This can free up some nice inventory spaces for people who are saving PFS that don't stack.

I haven't opened my lv35 gift bag on my 50R/50P just because I don't want to get a free mount when I don't need it (eg when I'm only logging on for an hour to farm stuff).

Thanks to this guide, now I know I can open the gift bag but not the next. :D

Did they put a place to get a new bag if you stupidly destroyed your bag - since all bags come from the preceding?

Nope -- once gone, it's gone. You'll have to wait for the quests to get the level 35 bag to start again.

*I know this is an old guide but it was still on the first page of this board before I posted*

Yeah, I opened my 35 bag the other day after coming back after a year, I hadn't opened it before because they were bugged and people weren't getting anything. So, I opened it now (I'm 37k/2Xp) and got...big ole' lot of nothing, and no 40 bag to boot. Contacted support and am waiting on a reply.
