nice guide but i still have some questions on what each does for example will getting a low level pet and raising it yourself give u more value or just TP and how does the value and all that work I'm assuming u want a holy pet that will give u the best stats right.

Getting a low level pet, raising it's aptitude, and leveling it up will result in higher stats.

Holy pets will have higher stats than Magical, than Amazing, than Natural, than Wild. Unsure at what point/if a Magical with higher Aptitude will have higher stats than Holy, etc.

You can always give a pet better stats via merging.

A lower level pet will also give you "bonus" TP in that it will gain TP relatively fast as it levels, however if you don't mind chain merging (i.e. you only have 1 pet you're leveling, as opposed to a pet for both classes, so can merge multiple other pets together to create massive training chains) you can use those training points, (and potions bought with golden eggs or seige badges) to turn those training points into TP.

Basically, my suggestion. Look through the active skills guide and find the type of pet with the skills you want. Then get that pet in as high a quality as you can find/afford/wait for. If you're gonna take time leveling it up yourself, and/or possibly have 2 different pets you're working on, then go for a low level. If you just want quick stats with no real worry, then get a high level.

Ah yes, I would like to know that as well, since you need at least 3 slots to do that combining multiple pets to gets lots of extra training points. I don't want to have to give up my primary pet, just for extra training points. I see three slots open in the op, so I know it is at least possible :)

The ticket is needed for "pair" merging, and we're not really sure what that does yet since the tickets don't exist in the game yet.

NOT true. the only current way to get a merging ticket is thru pet events, these occur randomly and ONLY WHEN your pet is ACTIVE, meaning you have them summoned. a little dropdown bar will pop up which you click the dropdown button and a new window opens where your pet talks to you, you must choose an option from the list given. if the correct option is chosen your pet will give you an item that when opened from your inventory will give you one of a list of sevral items and ONLY ONE. one of the items it can give you is a pair merging ticket.

if you did the tutorial training by going to the pet farm by talking to the pet guy on the donkey in one of the several towns they are in and got your first runic pet egg in this way the guy that does your training will give you a ticket for your 3rd pet slot for free. as to where to get more tickets for the 4th-6th slots i do not know although they may be available through quests or something like that in the future BEST GUESS would be that it will be a future cash shop item

EDIT: you also HAVE TO go through the training guidance and succesfully complete it in order to be able to turn in golden eggs to the guy on the farm for certain bonuses depending on whether you turn in 1, 2, or 3 eggs.

1 egg - item that contains ONE item from a list (mostly pet food)
2 eggs - potion that converts training points into talent points for your pet
3 eggs - potion that turns talent points or training points (dont remember which) into 1 point of aptitude for your pet

You get the 3rd spot by just talking the the guy at Millers Ranch after you do the first Cavy quest.

but if you failed that cavy catching training. you dont get the ticket.

if you repeat the quest using a golden egg, will you get a chance to get that ticket?

Since the value numbers are random it is hard to tell. I wanted to test how getting a level 10 pet and opening it up would compare to leveling a pet to 10 (with a higher aptitude than the opened one) to see if the opened pet was based on ITS aptitude or 100/100. But there is no real way to test it that I can see. So when you open a pet that is high level your VALUE numbers (that middle column) are randomly placed. Whether they are are based upon Level and aptitude and the aptitude of the pet or a 'perfect' aptitude is unknown. The only known is they are in fact effected by the growth numbers, and have some sort of base number affixed to them.

But I have worked a few backwards using all possible influences and cant get it to work out right.

EDIT:
I will say that I think the better option is to get as low a pet as possible and level it yourself. Because I think the VALUE numbers will be MUCH higher that way than opening some random level 30 pet. I have one, and the numbers arent that great.

Cool. At least for now, pick the "find something interesting" option. :). Any idea what those merge tickets actually DO now?

They actually changed the interface. So it tells you how many times you have merged into that particular pet. i.e. 1/3 in bold green lettering so you cant miss it. It also made the tool tip a little easier to understand in terms of how you can merge and what things you need to look for.

As for the pair merging, I just figured that was to simply change the skin from one pet to another. So if you had a pet you didnt like the look of but had nice numbers you could make it look like something you wanted. Assuming you had the egg to merge with it.

I "failed" the initial pet training. I killed the wolf, but did not catch the cavy. So I did not get the 3rd slot. If I pay 1 egg and do it later will I get the slot or is it lost forever? I will test myself when the time limit is up and he lets me train again, but curious if anyone else has done it yet.

Yes. I missed mine the first time too (I instantly killed the wolf and cavy run into the mountains) and I got it the next time when i used an golden egg.

I run around with my pet all the time and never have seen a box.
It is very hard to see or do I have to do something to prompt an event?

I know the button (Bear paw) but is there more than just that?
Does it blink or something?

Is merging broke? I got a pet Kipos. I merged him with my first elf and finally a few days later I got enough eggs to try and get him up in level. I was able to merge him 2 times on Tuesday one time Wednesday morning less than 5 minutes before daily resets ( hoping it would reset witht hem so I could do my other three ;)

Now it is Thursday evening about 36 hours later and it still says I have done all 3 merges for today. What is going on? :S

Also I hear the pet merging tickets are not added yet what about the breeding tickets? I want all 6 spots :D

Finally How do you buy the last items on the hunters list? They say 25 ?(some face picture) I have heard guild points but what are guild points, I know about guild runes is all.

Thanks for any answers/help

Thanks for the guild merit thing.
The reset seems to be 24 hours after the last merge you did. It will not reset the text so it will still say you have done 3 of 3 for the day. But you will be allowed to merge and it will switch to 1 of 3 after your merge.
Still no clue of on the breading tickets or the Pair tickets other than they may not be added yet.
