Quick question... If I merge two pets, and I use a pet that has leveled in crafting as my reagent, will it lose that experience?

For example:

I have a Rune Spirit and an Ice Lizard. I want to use my Ice Lizard as the agent, and the Rune Spirit as my reagent. My Rune Spirit has leveled up in Mining, Woodcutting, and Herbalism. Will my Rune Spirit lose all of that experience if I use it as a reagent?

Thanks!

Nevermind... I found out the hard way that the levels are lost... Ugh...

Hello there I actually have a question regarding chain-merging that possibly was answered but i'm too lazy to read :P . Basically my concern is, can you use chain-merging with a pet of a cheaper element and then use a neutralization bar to use it with another element? In other words, I use the fire element cause I'm a mage, but fire pets are rare and too expensive, if I used the chain-merging technique with wind pets(cheaper) and then use a neutralization bar on it, will it still give me all those training points when I merge the new elementless pet with my fire one? Also do talent points also get passed down? If my pet has 500 and another that I want to merge it with also has 500, after the merge, will my pet have 1000 talent points? Thanks

PS. Great job on this guide Pinky and those that have subsequently contributed to it.

Thanks. Haven't changed the guide in a bit, but it is still mostly accurate. Mostly... loyalty thing is not.

As per chain merge, that can work, but I dont think there is economic sense there. Neutralization bar is too expensive. I understand that chain merge is slow process, and availability of low level eggs is low, especially now that high zones give high eggs. Still, I don't see how expense of clearing the element off the "food" egg can be justified.

Talent points don't come across on merge. Would be too easy since each pet starts with 1000, so a few merges (or chain merge) would max it out. You get no talent points at all on merge, you have to get them from training point and potion, or when your pet gains level. Only training points come across intact in way you described.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

Alright sir thank you very much for the feedback in a promptly matter ;) . The neutralization bar actually makes sense to me cause I got a couple hundred of those badges (never spent them). Also there is a big difference in terms of the egg elements, wind you're looking about 170 eggs in AH which about 50% can be bought at 20k or less compared to just 19 fire eggs which only 5 sell for less than 100k. There's only 2 fire Holy Eggs and only 1 of them actually has aptitute higher than 70. That pretty much summarizes it. Nevertheless thanks for the help and suggestion :D .
