Hadn't noticed m/d :) I only play it for siege sometimes >_>
Mage/Druid

Elite Skills:
*Perception- Self buff which increases MP and mattack.
xMagic Target- Self buff which increases magical accuracy.
oControl Flame- Passive. When Eruption is triggered, mattack is increased by a percentage.
oGreen Guardian- Passive which adds a HoT effect to Mother Earth's Protection.
*Magma Blade- Powerful instant cast with an incredibly long range (250) and a 6 sec CD.
oBoiling Rock- Passive which increases Magma Blade's damage and has a chance of adding MP.
oEarth Attack- Passive which changes Earth Pulse's AoE to fan shape and reduces it's CD by 5 seconds.
oElven Mystic- has to be charged up by casting offensive spells- when released does Wind damage.

Useful Druid General Skills:
*Recover- 2 second cast heal.
oAntidote- Cleanses poisons.
*Savage Blessing- Increases the targets magical and physical accuracy.
*Earth Pulse- Instant cast, 15 sec CD.
*Knowledge of Nature- Permanently increases wis.
oMother Earth's Protection- reduces received physical and magical damage. 1 min CD.

YMMV on the macc stuff. Boosting wisdom passive and savage blessing is probably all that's necessary, Magic Target gives verrrrry little macc. IMO I'd advise against getting the 45 and 50 elite, but I have not played m/d as pve, so I don't know if they might be actually useful there. Earth Pulse - the original one - is a frontal aoe like Phoenix but takes a target, and acts as another instant, which is handy in pvp. After getting the elite, it turns into a short range fan aoe, which is.. meh, and no target, so it's pretty much pointless when you're at that range you could cast purg and hit full aoe around :P The Elven Mystic has to be charged (chance upon using *some* offense spells, I did not double check which, but not all), and then you get an altskillbar with a weak instant cast spell.

[/LIST]Or maybe some of you are above level 65 and others below? But no seriously everyone send in a ticket, preferably multiple times. And start a few raging rants on the forum, too. And PM the CMs and spam the Facebook page, of all languages.

Or then again you could just have asked me in the first place :D

(And no I am not bitter that none of you have commented on my guide, you mean people :p)

ah didnt know that haha. thanks for the info.

Ok, added a section on pets and did some general cleanup.

I still need tags for m/w and m/k *cough* PAZZZZZZZUZZZZZZU *cough*...

Ahem.

Also, if anyone has the initiative to link a nice little YouTube vid of a mage being magely, that'd be lovely too. I kind of want to see you t-storm kite Paz, I know the idea, I just never seem to make it work that well in practice. I know the skill isn't really needed like it was back in the old days, but it's still handy to have in the arsenal.

And thanks Kat, even though you're a terrible mean mage-hating, loin-cloth-wearing, sweaty, ragey warrior type. ;)

let's see...

m/w- berserk to 50, flame to 70 even though the dmg is insignificant..the level controls our cast speed elite %, activate mana to 42-ish is plenty to cast berserk and elemental explosion, intensification to 70...useless in other combos but it gives m/w the crit dmg increase %. all other required skills are passives for the most part. elemental explosion get above 60, but at 4 crit per level after it gives diminishing return considering tp cost, just like energy influx. unharmed mage ISS from WA is a must.

m/k- EA to 50, the , stars of light to 70, light charge to 70, electric bolt >60, messenger of light maxed, holy light strike @ zero! (maybe below level 50 you can use it for the stun but after its crap), i think you level energy recovery to max (gives crit dmg %) used be confusing since energy influx also increased the %...i check in a bit when i log in. for m/k i would suggest using ntBuff for EA and messenger of light to always be on and influx to always be on in combat since it gives the % crit dmg buff.

i will have to get someone else to fraps the TS kite...from my perspective it would probably make ppl nauseous with the camera gymnastics. i will swap to no weapon and see how the old HoS kite looks on a fraps. if you're trying it do NOT have curse profiler or whatever loaded unless they fixed its lag inducing bug. it used to cause stuttering when you went from one room to another inside instances and got me killed a ton until figured out it was the culprit.

awesome guide fan!

*if you're a big pvp hoe like me (well fail pvp hoe) get discharge leveled pretty high. in pve the dmg isnt all that much at endgame...but dmg is dmg in pvp and it can pack a wallop coming from a well geared mage.

*crit softcap for mages- changing gear around i got a little insight into this..and got so confused i thought an ostrich was a..nm. in GCH (meaning bosses not higher level than us atm) i went from 80.2% crit in burn phase to 77% when i swapped to juggler set...then to 75.7% when i swapped to Aoth set. dropping to 77 didnt show any change on the average % crit rate after a boss fight...dropping to below 76% did. i think. maybe. so now i go for housemaid crit and the 6%, pushing above 76% in burn and my average rate jumped. i think. maybe. idk, it's of course totally random on a fight by fight level but on average i think thats the trend ive seen.

anyone else think its annoying that Mage/Knight can't use a shield? Its great that u get Pdef from the passive buffs but mage/knights can't compete with other classes that get an extra stat slot. I think M/K being able to use a shield the way mage/scouts use a staff and bow is change that needs to be made. Anyone else agree?

I disagree actually.. .it would lower your damage. You'd be unable to use a staff and would have to use a wand.

Not as in HAVE to use a sheild, but *could*. If m/k could use a sheild I would def use it when duoing things with my r/s friend because I already have to tank because I have higher pdef. It would be a nice option to have =]

Hmm true. But then they would need to give every /knight that option. R/K, S/K, everybody or it wouldn't be very fair. Ugh a Rogue or Scout with a shield... kill me now XD.

Great Guide Fan...one thing u missed out about mana regen...a certain class combo has a party mana regen attatched to one of their main skills...yeah, i'm looking at s/d...at lvl 50 VA regens almost 1k mana every 2 sec to party members around them for 10 sec every 30 sec...not that it's all that useful as you said fan, because mages NEVER run out of mana, but if u included concentration prayer, u shud add Devour Blood too. I love the guide otherwise fan!!
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

You got it correct, but you need to level to 30/30 to get Fang Ritual. Without it, Cursed Fangs is weak attack.

Once you get it, make sure it always runs (ntBuff does tremendous job of keeping buffs like that all the time) and check difference in Cursed Fangs.

For example, taking 500K takes 1 or 2 hits with flame on M/P, but as M/R I would cast Cursed Fang, Fireball and spam Cursed fangs until killed, mostly in much less time then it takes to cast one flame. This is great instant combo.

Great guide. Any chance of extending the guide to include level 60 and 70 elites as well as Mage/Champion and Mage/Warlock?

I am very interested in M/C. It seems that most mage combos benefit from choosing the fire knowledge path early and then filling in the wind skills later. From the elite's, M/C looks like its better suited as a wind Mage early on. This should lead to more use of CC and AoE than a straight fire Mage and consequently better non-burn DPS on trash. The Campion's general skills look like they'd be effectively useless though.

*Midknight/Yoman could you get me your most basic damage equation?*

Anyone else still waiting on this? I'm curious about how "fire damage" is calculated. For example in the fireball skill.

At lvl 66 it says, "Casts a fireball, causing 1918 +0.30 x INT fire Damage."

Anyone want to explain where we get the "fire Damage" variable to add to that equation? Does it come from the weapon/gear or the "Fire Knowledge" skill that caps at 50?

Also where if at all do we add in magic attack to the equation?

The main theory is that it adds damage based on Int. If you have 10k Int, you get 10k x 0.3 = 3k damage added to your final fireball damage.

I think it would be nice if M/K could wear a shield on their back and still use a 2-handed staff. That way M/K could work the same way as M/S, put stats on the shield and still use a 2 handed staff. Plus M/K could then use shield of atonement which is a knight general skill. Anyone agree?

Can I as M/R use 2H staff and one or two daggers as well? Don't have to hold them, put them back where is your shield. :D
