A Guide To Playing A Warlock/Rogue

As I have already covered the basics of playing as a Warlock, I will not be going over that in any of the following guides. I do however, recommend reading the section pertaining to this combo in that guide, as it may further help to elaborate some ideas for you. Each guide for the warlock combos will only contain pertinent information about that combo, and how to use the combo when wanting to hit Willpower Blade (WPB), and what to do/a rotation once in WPB. This guide is aimed at those wanting to play a Warlock/Rogue.

Shadow Stab (SS) becomes one of the best skills for quick damage to enemy mobs once you have the level 20 elite skill Soul Hit which turns SS into a ranged magic attack. This is an instant skill, that does not adhere to LoS rules, though it does rely on weapon speed, and misses fairly often if you have no dex. Adding a couple dex stats along the way helps solve the issue with missing so often. Use this skill first and often, beyond that, the following is the rotation for the Wl/R after running out of Rogue Energy.

**The rotation for a Wl/R during solo play, on trash mobs inside instances, or between WPB burns on boss mobs:


Use Perception Extraction when you are low on Warlock Energy. The skill does cause a DoT, but as all DoT's do not scale well in this game, that is of secondary importance while leveling. Once you have reached closer to endgame, and have the level 45 elite Crime & Punishment (C&P), this skill becomes of much more importance.

Use Soul Poisoned Fang to cause a DoT on an enemy mob and to reduce its resitances. Though much like the mage skill Fire Ward, this is a straight number reduction and not a percentage, thus meaning little overall is actually reduced, and will make almost no real difference in the damage you cause. This skill is much like Perception Extraction in that it is a DoT, thus will only become of more importance at closer to endgame for use with C&P.

Use Heart Collection Strike when you are low on Warlock Energy. This skill causes a nice bit of damage, but try to not use it unless you are low on Warlock Energy. The reason for this is to conserve when you regain Warlock Energy. If you only need 30 Warlock Energy to fill your bar, you have just wasted 20 Warlock Energy on the use of this skill this time around. Using this skill only when needed really helps to maximize your DPS.

Use Weakening Weave Curse on any enemy that does not have the Weakened Debuff. This debuff is important for the extra damage other skills cause when this debuff is applied.

Use Warp Charge with the Weakened Debuff on the enemy, and to give yourself the casting speed increase buff. This buff will help the rest of your rotation process through faster.

Use Surge of Malice with the Weakened Debuff on the enemy.

Use Puzzlement for the damage and for 2 PSI.

Use Psychic Arrows for the damage and 1 PSI.

Once you have reached the first use of Surge of Malice, you should weave in Weakening Weave Curse, Warp Charge, and Surge of Malice when they are off cooldown to help increase DPS.

If you are looking to build up PSI to reach WPB, use Puzzlement to gain 2 PSI, and Psychic Arrows four times to gain 1 PSI each time (or if you have the level 70 elite use Shadow Step for 3 PSI, Puzzlement for 2 PSI, and SS for one PSI). This will get you to the 6 PSI needed to hit WPB as soon as possible.

**Once in WPB:


Use Soul Pain, Perception Extraction, and Soul Poisoned Fang on an enemy to get the most damage out of C&P if the debuffs are not already applied. Use End of Thought when then enemy mob is below 35% health to give you 1 PSI every second for 4 seconds (returning 4 PSI to you in total, allowing for more damage overall while in the WPB state - Special Note: This is the only skill in the game that earns you PSI while in WPB). Using this will cost you 3 PSI initially, before returning any PSI to you. Use C&P with all the prerquisite DoT's on the enemy mob to maximize the damage you gain from using this skill. Using this skill will cost you 2 PSI. (This skill is currently broken, and does not cause as much damage as it should be causing.)
