The current name system for the gems is not very friendly to players. While it may sound look good as an idea, its a terrible thing on paper, especially for new players.
Currently you have names of categories that jewels can fall into.
Some examples:
Enhanced is +13-16
Advanced is +7-12
Nebula is Wings.
Sun is Accessories.
Moon is Armor.
Star is Weapons.
So, a Perfect Advanced Sun Jewel would work 100% of the time on plussing accessories from 7 to 12.
On top of that, we have words in there for the levels of gear they work on.
Perfect Advanced Sun Jewel - Blessing ---- (Level 40)
Perfect Advanced Sun Jewel - Protection ---- (Level 50)
Perfect Advanced Starsplinter Sun Jewel ---- (Level 90)
Perfect Advanced Sun Jewel - Elven ---- (Level 100)
Other than the obvious mistake in one of these, this is a good system on paper, but its terrible in practice.
Has anyone ever looked at the title of the jewel and didn't look at the description to verify it is what they thought it was?
Why can't we just name them what they are?
My suggestion is to keep the word "Perfect" and scrap everything else.
New naming convention suggestion would be: (Perfect?) (Plussing Range) (Gear Type) - (Level)
Colors for some examples:
Old: Perfect Advanced Sun Jewel - Blessing
New: Perfect 6-12 Accessory - Level 40
Old: Perfect Enhanced Starsplinter Star Jewel
New: Perfect 13-16 Weapon - Level 90
Old: Nebula Jewel
New: 1-6 Wings
This helps when using the search feature in item shop by not requiring you to memorize the names of each jewel category and then piecing together the information correctly.
You will no longer need to look at the description to verify you have the right jewel. You get that information immediately in the name.
