[Not a bug] Can't see any quest "!" marks on maps

Hi,

Since the update, i can't see any quest icons on any maps, on any of my toons. I'm speaking of the "!" telling me i have new quests. I see them on my mini map but not on the regular map (the one i bring on hitting 'M'). I uninstalled WOWMAP and WOWMAP Instances and rebootted with no success. I don't have Adv.Quest Book which i know fiddles with those.

Please Help, i can't find anything on google or on the forums ;-(

I've seen this issue solved by updating graphic drivers. I don't know why this should be the case, but maybe give it a try?

Update : Received suggestion to reinstall. I uninstalled, deleted the runes dir in my docs, redownloaded And reinstalled. No success.

I think it may be an orphan setting from an addon

Two suggestions:

1. Open your Map, click on the Setup button, mouse over Show Quests Options, and make sure that Hide Low Level Quests is not checked.

2. If option #1 doesn't help, navigate to your main RoM game folder (C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86), if you're using 64-bit Windows) and move your Addons folder (found inside the \Interface folder) elsewhere on your HDD. Restart the game and see if your low level quests show up on your map. If they do, then it's an addon which is causing the problem. You will have to sort out which one is doing it.

1-Tried to update graphics drivers no success with that.
2-Even very high level quests are not showing, but yes i thought of showing low level ones.
3-Thx for the suggestion on addons. I moved the whole dir (which was staying there even though i thought an uninstall was getting rid of it). No success.

Other thought : I remember something in beginning of ch4 about planting behing bugged (timer being shorter and map having the same problem and both bugs being related). Unfortunately, old forum posts are wiped :-(

It's possible that one of the patches didn't install correctly or the installation was corrupted during the patching process. You might try manually reinstalling the last three patches (not the big 1.1GB initial Chapter V patch) and see if that fixes the problem. If that doesn't work, then you may have no other option but to do a full game reinstall. Fortunately, we have updated game files now available, so if you download a fresh set and use them, you'll be one patch away from being back in the game.

Try moving your "Runes of Magic" hidden folder out of the My Documents folder, then reloading into the game so no settings are saved, then check your map and see if that works. Back in chapter 3 I had this same problem, turned out some of the map settings kept in that file got corrupted, and I had to manually modify them so quests would show on the map.

Ok, so the solution is.... on of the many that u all suggested... Unfortunately, i didn't reboot between all of the steps. I finally rebooted yesterday and found it everything was fine. So, I think the removal of the addon and runes of magic directories was the key, but i can't be sure. Anyway, thanks to all of you people, it worked!

Anyone having this problem starting with the last patch???
