99% of the time, this is due to an addon conflict.

Most class-related addons have not yet been updated for champion/warlock.

Uninstall your addons, as you may have one you have forgotten about.

rofl nytefall you are so wrong. he did not say that it doesn't work when he tries to change class at the house maid, he said it DOESN'T LET HIM. meaning he does not have the option. it is just for the two new classes though. you have to go inside your house and talk to the housekeeper to change classes.

oh and the symbol on the minimap for warlock and champion are backwards.

and when you inquire about our race, it says we are urbies, whatever the hell that is.

Definitive answer for the time being:

If you are playing a Dwarf, regardless of your class combo, you must go inside your house to change classes. If you're playing any other race, you can swap classes at the House Maid outside the house.

And no, I do not know if this is a bug or if this is intended. It may be changed at a later date with a minipatch or bugfix patch.

However, Nytefall is correct when he says there are older class-switcher addons which can cause this issue for non-Dwarf characters. They were rarely updated and continue to cause problems as our game is patched and updated.

Rarely updated and yet up to date until this chapter release. Lol. Seems to me they updated enough. But it's kind of hard to update something when the option doesn't exist with the house maid/servant. You guys should know, you can't make something from nothing. That's why every new patch consists of models created from chapter 1 :P

Please read what both Nytefall and I said. There are several "class helper" addons in circulation for which updates were not provided after Chapter IV became available. If you acquired a third class, you were unable to switch to it as the addon(s) didn't take it into account and blocked the change. Unloading or removing the addon, or updating it--if an update was available--fixed the problem.

Such class-helper addons have not yet, to the best of my knowledge, been updated to include the two new Dwarf-only classes.

As I said in message #5 above, if you're a Dwarf, you have to enter your house and talk to the house maid there in order to change classes.

I have been informed that this is indeed a bug, not intended, and that a future fixit patch will correct the issue of Dwarves not being able to change classes at the external house maids in all zones.

I have a quick question on this topic. Why wasn't this patch tested before release...you will probably say it was! Well, if it was...why are there so many blatent bugs that were released with the patch...who is testing the patches? One suggestion, maybe Frogster should create a Public Test Server a PTS that users can log into and help test these releases...evidently the people testing it are not doing a very good job! Just a thought...

Sometimes the bug reports from testing are deemed not serious enough to postpone the release, so the fix is scheduled later. That way they can keep the release on time and only have the major, game breaking issues to work on.

Having to go inside is a pain, but all else considered, it's a minor issue

Not when combined with the damn memory leak making it crash every time you teleport when RoM's over 1.3 gigs. You'd think something like names, making a quest that actually works, etc. would be fairly high on the list. I can see your point that going inside isn't a big deal by itself, but when combined with crashes that occur during any teleport in varanas...

I do wonder why a company dedicated to its players would release a chapter that even bugs the teleporters in Varanas, a zone that's not exactly fresh out of the box. Seems like a large amount of apathy may be the cause.

I have played on the browser version of Runes of Magic (which are only available for the European servers right now...) And it appears that they are getting MUCH more attention than us in the US which also contribute money to Frogster and Runewaker.. I have seen 1 bugged quest/item in Yrvandis Hollows, i played on a dwarf on a EU server and that bugged quest isnt bugged there AND it led to a whole bunch of other quests too, so it MUST be fixed for us Americans. Also, i was getting 20-50 fps on normal settings on that EU server, while i get 10-20 otherwise, and i heard from a lvl 70 that they had an NPC that sells diamonds for 20k each which is another thing that we don't have in the US. Other than the fact that Runes of Magic is basically based in Europe, why can't we get as much attention as they do? Why can't we get as much love from Frogster-EU as we got from Frogster America? :'(
