Private Channel problems..

Okay so I have a side guild on an alt, so I thought to myself
"Why not create a private channel so my guild members can easily contact me on my main"
So I tried creating a channel and it seemed like it worked.
I told all the guild members the exact channel name so they could join it.
They all started telling me that they couldn't join because the channel name or pass for the channel was incorrect.
I didn't even set up a pass for it.
So I made an alt and tried to join the private chat and I got the same error.
Why isn't it working?

If they try to join the private channel through the social window. it does that for some strange reason.

The easiest way to join a private channel is to type /join <channelname>

Thats the best way. Joining it through the social tab, and clicking on the join channel button always had some issues.

Well that didn't work :l
Does the channel have to be established for a certain amount of time?
And on top of that I can't even leave the channel or type in it for some reason..

I've had that happen before too. How did you make the channel?

I would suggest making a new channel by typing in /join <newchannelname> and see if they can join that.

I've had a weird problem on one of my characters recently where it says he's in a private channel, but cant talk, leave or anything in it. But other characters are in the channel fine.

I suppose it's possible that you've managed to create, sort of, a private channel with a name that already exists.

Try creating a new channel with, hopefully, a unique name. And no, I don't know how you might go about checking all of the private or custom channels that already exist on your server.
