Daily Quest - Demonstration battle not working

Dear GMs

I like to report that this quest is not working as there is no mob spawn when i select to start the demonstration.

I'm from Osha... :(

Had this problem on Govinda yesterday after maintence… So it wasn't just us that have had this bug.. HMMMM....

Yesterday was fine after the maintenance, I was able to do it.

I dun want to go back and do the butterflies..........

Breaks for us a lot on reni. Just make sure no one is aoeing the mob spawn point. It breaks the same way dalanis events used to/do. When it breaks, it stays broke till maintenance.

It'll be broken until next tuesdays maint. It breaks quite often on Reni.

It broke on Osha because their is an excessive amount of people who bot/macro it to do the event what they dont realize its so much slower then just going to do "Exitinguish the Flames". I am making it publicly known one of the culprits so people need to tell him to stop and that is [player name removed]

Oh man, now have to spend 30 mins (including the time to relogging due to crash) to do the butteries in inferno garden

Did u guys end up breaking it on every channel. On govinda we can still do it on ch2 at least.

I had tried both channel 1 & 2 and yes both are broken..........

and I wonder why some players need to bot on channel 2 since the EOJ event only available on channel 1.

it was borke on both..

first it was only channel one.. I asked the peeps there to please not break ch 2.. i guess they did not listen.. as it broke on ch 2 as well.

yes - this reminds me of dalanis events... kills spawning mobs too fast - and borks event..

in this case it stinks - as this was by far the best daily ever!!!!

So - i beg - peeps - please do another area for EOJ event.. do not bork this daily.

You can still get EOJ from channel 2, i have at least when i pick up the daily + public, takes a bit but i think you can do it in channel 2.

Why not just do Extinguish the Flames? Same xp/tp, not quite as fast for the daily but still much faster than Butterflies.

Yes, I saw Demonstration Battle being botted for the event on Ch1, swapped to CH2 but it had a line of people waiting a turn. I logged out for 10 minutes, returned on Ch1 to find the botter gone & the daily & event broken. It was broken on both channels by then so I've done Extinguish the Flames since.

Ive submitted a ticket last week to support reporting the botting of this quest/npc...

I know other players have submitted support tickets reporting this as well...

Yet the botting is still taking place, and to the point where the NPC is being rendered inoperable for the entire server.

I've actually checked a few of these - it's a macro, not a bot, and everyone I've approached about it has responded and been an actual player.

While I can understand you may be upset to see the same people there after reporting them, in all the cases I've checked, their innocence was proven.

I'm sorry it's colored your impression of the support system, but I'd rather have that than ban innocent players.

Botters or Macro......., i would much rather the quest stay the way it is. What I predict happens is enough people complain and the simple solution for RuneWaker is to remove the quest.. So then we are stuck without a super fast day quest. Then everyone will switch over the the flame day quest and we will all have the same conversation about how that is too crowded or broken. In this case.. let it be.

But can anything be done by the developers to prevent it from being broken in the first place? There are other dailies in the area that don't take forever to complete, but this one's the most efficient (I'm a heal-statted druid; mobs in the zone take forever and a day to kill), and it's really irritating to find it broken a day after maintenance.

I know we can't really keep people from using macros for the daily, but this kind of broken content tends to only anger the playerbase every time one of these bugs pops up...especially given that they are never fixed. This daily and the dalanis events are not the only things that have broken frequently like this, so one would think that sooner or later, the devs would find a way to combat such a persistent problem. Why even bother implementing dailies or events like this when they always end up bugged?

Why are people waiting in line to do the quest???? Form a party, this event/daily is raidable. Win/win for everyone if u form a group

Of this, I'm not sure - I've seen and forwarded the bug reports, but I have no further information at this time.

Does anyone know definitively if it's peoples' AOE's killing too quickly, macro code bugs, or just spawning the mobs too often that causes it to break? Is this a problem on the german servers too or if so would it have already been fixed? Anyway, please fix this problem as quickly as possible and please actually fix the bug and not just avoid the bug by making the quest useless the way the Dalanis events were ruined.
