Hi, I'm new to this game and I have already had 2 major problems with it. They are the ones on the thread title.
First of all, the registration process really needs to be polished. You see, I wanted to register to the US server (although I'm not from the US), mainly because my ISP usually performs better (fast ping) when connecting to US servers. So I registered using the link
http://us.runesofmagic.com/us/free-mmo/register.html. As you can see in the url, it's for US but when I submitted the form and got the confirmation mail, the confirmation link has a url
http://www.runesofmagic.com/en/free-mmo/…terregister_pi1[action]=blahblahblah. Take note of that url, it's suddenly for EN which I believe is for EU servers. So I think the problem is right there, that's why I can see a lot of people complaining about log in errors. A lot of people registering for US will unknowingly be registered to EU and you could just imagine how pissed they will get when they're trying to log in repeatedly to US servers and keep on being denied. Especially since new people won't know accounts from these servers are considered separate. So when they log in to the game the first time and chose USA for their region, they won't know what hit them when they try to log in and be repeatedly denied. I experienced that myself and it took a while for me to figure out where to register for a US account. So I ask that you guys fix this problem right away.
Second problem I would like to talk about is the Client Version Error I experienced just right after the new patch was released. I know a lot of people have had this problem too when I look at other threads made before to complain about this particular problem. I'm just asking if there's a way for devs to address this problem and develop a better patching system so that this problem will not occur to some users again. I have played a lot of games before and none of them had this major problem with patching. And if you say that recoding is tedious work and not really an option, then just please alleviate the problem by compiling a FULL slim client available for download so that users who have this problem when every patch comes out won't have to wait long to re-download the whole game again when re-installing (which is the best solution for this problem right now).
Thanks.
