Warrior/Mage Suicide Attacks

I couldn't find another thread about this particular issue, so hopefully it hasn't been discussed yet. I am a 75/75 warrior/mage. I first noticed this problem when I was in the mini-game course of terror. I was attacking the barrier and just dropped dead. I look at my combat log to see what happened and found out that I hit myself with Thunder attack(electric attack). No debt. No dura loss. I thought it was a one time thing didn't think anything of it. It's not like I have never just randomly died before.

Since then I have died many many more times. It also happens with lava weapon (flame attack in combat log). This has happened in siege as well as other instance zones (not had it happen running around in te regular world ye, but I wouldn't count it out. I have seen people on reni server discuss the problem recently, so I know it isn't just happening to me.

It would be nice if they would/could fix this issue since I am missing out on 40 shells daily by not being able to do course of terror. There is no promise that I won't die doing the other mini games, that being even more shells/tokens I would normally have if I didn't wind up killing myself.

I'm not sure if this could be used as some sort of exploit in pvp/siege. I've not noticed any particular events happening at the time of the deaths, but that doesn't mean it isn't triggered by a certain skill from other players. Kinda like the warden bug that caused people to crash during siege. As far as pvp servers are concerned I'm no sure if you are in battle with another player and this happens would they still drop gear for the person who "killed" them? If they do drop gear and a player can force this death to happen then it is a problem that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

This issue has been around for ages in regards to w/m. It happens when you white hit something as it dies/is dead, its sorta odd, but basically, if you want to avoid it, do NOT white hit as something dies.

CoT is one major issue, along with VN. When killing add waves in VN, if you white hit one of the adds as it dies, well, you die too

If your soloing, let your white hits finish the kill and don't use Lightnings Touch, that should help significantly.

OMG today I spent 5 hours trying to do VN and each time I just kill myself on adds.... can this bug be ever fixed or I quit doing VN forever as it just sucks.

Paz also posted something similar in the screenshots thread about suicide W/M death.

Knowing the timeframe it takes for RW to get anything done, I'd go Mage for minigames (since your sig shows 75 mage side, and W/M and M/W uses the exact same gear). As a Mage, it should also be easier to do CoT (T-Storm ftw) and Gobs (T-storm ftw again).

As i said above, just make sure you don't white hit something as it dies. I have run VN at least 60 times since switching to w/m, and have only killed myself probably 10 times tops. That includes Duo'ing it at least 25 times. Easiest way with the adds is to hit escape to de-target the mob, making sure you don't hit it as it dies, can also just tab target a different mob, but always a risk of not changing target

Unfortunately I don't really have the tp to swap and run mage and do enough dps to finish cot. Which is no ones fault but my own, but I would go mage if I could.

Also I never ran into this bug before ch5 when I came back in december. I've been playing w/m for 3 years now so something somewhere has changed with the skills, killing myself is new (it did happen before i got my 60 elites also)

I will try to make sure my white hits don't go off as the stuff in there dies like someone suggested... do you think using diyce would cover the "hitting escape" to not be targeting the enemy? (I started messing with diyce recently and I know it auto targets the next mob as soon as it dies)

I will post more info again when I have it

it makes it easier to afk in boss fights and still absolutely rape face...i even saw a diyce that linked scrut after target = boss and tdead Oo

suprised some of the scripts dont make margaritas at some point too
