Rogue/Mage elites bugged

Title: Three broken Rogue/Mage Elites:

Enchanted Throw -

"Enchants your projectile weapons so that every normal attack will carry additional Throw damage. (Launching during an attack will consume one projectile weapon.) (This effect is mutually exclusive with Poison.)"


Fixed with 6.0.2 patch.


Day of Rain (+50) -

"Launches a projectile at all surrounding enemies and causes 450.0% main hand weapon DPS + 4.50 * Projectile Damage physical damage. Every time Throw is used, the skill's cooldown time can be reduced by 1 second. If Enchanted Throw is used in conjunction, then it only has a 50% hit rate. (Consumes 2 projectiles.)"


Fixed. I forget with what patch. The description now read "projectile DPS" instead of mainhand DPS.


Illusion Blade Dance (+50) -

"After this is cast, you enter a Illusion Blade Dance state that lasts for 30.0 seconds. It will also cause 450.0% main hand weapon DPS + 4.50 * Projectile Damage physical damage to surrounding enemies every 2 seconds. While in effect, it also increases Physical Attack Speed by 20.0% and critical damage by 50.0% (Consumes 10 projectiles.)"

Description: Enchanted throw says (in the description) that it does additional throw damage.

Throw (+64) -
"Throws a hidden weapon at the target, causing 274.0% main hand weapon DPS plus 5.48 times Projectile Damage."


When enchanted throw is used, it does NOT do the same damage as throw does.



You can clearly see that I hit the mob for 162k (with throw), but only 72k with enchanted throw (even though the description is saying it is supposed to be doing throw damage.)

Here is the argument though, I was thinking that maybe it is only supposed to be doing some of throw damage (maybe just the projectile portion of the "throw" skill description, and not the %dps) but that does not make sense.

In this video - http://www.twitch.tv/i1own0u/b/368973906 - You can see that the damage is the same as throw. It is not scaled down at all. I have the level 15/20/25/30 elite on that alt. The difference between the alt and my main, is that my main has up to the level 50 elite (which can possibly be breaking the skill(s)?.


Onto the next broken *100% sure this is broken* skill, "Day of Rain"

For my diagnosis of this bug, please skip to 7:40 in that video and pay attention to the damage log. Enlivened blade is a skill that does 50% mainhand DPS at level 1. Day of rain is a skill that does 100% mainhand DPS at level 1. You can clearly see that day of rain is not doing the damage output that it is supposed to.

Being that day of rain is essentially the only filler a rogue/mage has, it should be fixed so that r/m is a more viable DPS path (and be able to played the way it is meant to be.)

Onto the next half broken skill, "Illusion Blade Dance"

This skill's damage is wrong. It does not do 450% main hand dps. It does the same damage as day of rain (if plussed to 50) It is very weak. The other half of the description is right though. It DOES increase attack speed by 20% and critical damage by 50%.

Vengeance Sting is also somewhat buggy. It is randomly reflecting damage onto party members, and i just crit one shot myself for 150k.

Fix this shyt plz.

The man, the myth, the suicide!

My guess is the damage reflects off mobs, then hits a random target afterwards - targets including players.

Kinda sad. R/M elites would easily make the combo the top, if not one of the top dps rogues.

Guess thats why you see others whom had no interest in r/m before now wanting fixes, they see the potential ;)

Yeah, r/m would be amazing if all this stuff would be fixed. Last time I reported something in this much detail was when the bleed was broken for r/s'. It only took about 10 months for one skill... so my math says these fixes will take about 30 months.

Oh well, one for the archives.

I just wanted a class I could play that would chew up our dam w/m and spit it out.

Premeditation is annoying with 90 sec cooldown, even when u dont use it in combat, not sure if working as intented or not.
Combo Throw has funny description: "... To targets that are of the same level and have no physical defense".

Nah it was only hitting players in the new 77 instance. I'm guessing it has something to do with one of the debuffs the trash mobs give. Didn't look into it too much cause that place is a hell hole and I won't go back.

As for hitting myself, it only happens on the 3rd boss (in KBN) as far as I know. I just can't stack all my buffs on that boss or I crit myself for more hp than I have, gg.

R/M is already a really good rogue combo. I'd say it's about on par with r/wd in the longer fights and a bit less than r/s in straight burns. It'll easily smash both if the elites skills had their main hand dps % fixed.

To guy talking about combo throw: Another thing I'd like to add is I'm not sure if the elite skill Life Rope Throw means combo throw should be a .5 sec cast total or .5 per each hit on it (adding up to 2 sec). Basically it's worded strange and I don't know if it's working as intended or not.

My guildie sent in a ticket to support explaining the R/M elite being bugged. Support replied with a link to the forums telling him to ask forums how to do more DPS and hit for more damage.

i'm still pissed that traps got removed...one of the best twink classes was r/m, you would never see them and they'd still win...

Vengence Sting's reflected damaged onto the player or friendly players nearby appears from my experience to be related to the skills ability to find the enemy target. In seige, I've crit friendly players when an enemy target rezes out before Vengence Sting has a chance to go off. This has also happened in mini games like Survival when the bomb that goes off disappears. Incidently I have also seen Vengence Sting HEAL enemy target's pets for over 800k.

Makes sense for kbn 3rd boss then. Orbs get killed and disappear before they can take damage so it goes onto the player instead.

Very Nice Analysis BB and im glad you made this thread. Im fairly new to R/M but in my month of gameplay on it, i knew from the moment i had both Enlivened Blade and Day of Rain, reading the description and seeing the results, there something was something seriously wrong going on with the results.
