Meeting with Vilas Katz (Bugged)

Other have posted this problem but I've looked and found no solution. As I have discovered Vilas Katz should be right beside another NPC in the Tower ruins right above the Port which you get the quest. I have looked there and he isn't there. Then I looked all over the entire area surrounding it and nothing. I am unable to follow him, route to him, nothing. Has anyone been able to find a solution that does fix this? If so, what? With the main quest line bugged I can't do much about leveling during double XP

I did this quest just fine yesterday. Didn't have any trouble with it. The NPC is just past the port where it says he is, up on a hill near the plant mobs, if I remember correctly.

Have you tried changing channels?

You can do a World Search for Vilas Katz, select him and hit the Follow button, and then follow the red arrow that will be placed on your character.

We had a week when Vilas Katz went AWOL. 1 channel on Reni, so was not possible to work around the bug. That said, after maintenance reset, he was back and nobody I heard of complained about him after that.

Of course, it sucks when the chain quest is bugged on 2X XP week. Stops your progress cold.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

And Vilas Katz is back at his place after the maintenance.

It is extremely disappointing that no GM took time to fix the issue on Monday (not even talking about Sunday).
What are we paying in this game for?
