Can sanity be brought to item names?

I know it is not a big thing, but it has been driving me crazy. Call it pet peeve.

The new gear names are long on creativity and short on actually useful information.

Let's take at L77 set:

Ring of Soul Domination - Ring
Ring of Soul Binding - Belt
Soul Infliltrated Armor - Pants
Hand of Soul Manipulation - Gloves

Ring and gloves are fair enough. But why is belt called "Ring"? Why is "Armor", normally associated with chest, a name for pants piece?

And this at least half-normal. Mage set has "Energy Footprint Boots"... simple and easy, except that they are not boots. It is a ring.

Of course, L75 sets are no better:

Tragic Loss - Helmet
Mournful Song - Shoulders
Tragegy Genesis - Chest
Sorrowful Return - Boots

Can we go with Tragic Loss Helmet, Sorrowful Return Boots, Tragedy Genesis Armor and Mournful Song Shoulders, like the gear names used to be?

Don't forget items with the name wand that are 2 handed staves. Or however many staves have start with the name Ring.

Would be nice if stat names held a more consistent tone across all ranks.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

The only real problem I have is the energy Footprint Boots thats actually a ring, and the confusing Staves name wands. The other ones I'm ok with.

well the names are ok imo. They just need to add whatever the helll it is after the name tho ya no? Like call if Ring of Soul binding Belt for example... simple...
Its a real pain in the asss when people talk to you and they are talkin about a specific piece of gear they may want etc whatev, and without a link u dont have a fricken clue what they r talkin about :P ( No not all gear) but im sure everyones had an example at one point or another

If you go to Georgia, everything you drink is a Coke. Mt Dew flavored Coke, Pepsi flavored Coke, Orange drink flavored Coke, etc. So maybe RW just thought everything could be a ring...

That is more about their wand fetish. Somewhere someone is convinced that if it is a stick that makes magic, it is wand. The 2-handed "wands" go from L20, and they continue that fine tradition with 2 new L80 2-handed "wands".

Of course, staves fans are not going to take this lying down. The went and labeled a whole bunch of 1-handed magic sticks "staff". Take that, wand people! Two can play this game.

I know, I know, and there is that lvl 79 one too. Should have been clearer, if you search for wand, you get staves because the staves are called wands, but teh wands are called other things...
