Wood Spirit Grasp canceling "Hide"

If a rogue is in Hide and receive the buff "wood spirit grasp" the hide effect disapears together with the buff.

I don't play a R/Wd, but a bit of research shows that Wood Spirit's Grasp is a passive skill and it should only be triggered when you use Power of the Wood Spirit (Warden General skill). In which case, you'd come out of Hide anyway.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Gonna hazard a guess and say it's just an expression of the much larger bug with buffs timing out pulling you out of hide. As an r/k I have two that come from hitting someone and last for 10 seconds which pull me out of hide when they expire. The hit and run tactic most rogues use doesn't work so well for me.

Corruption's third best r/k! I've been slacking, wl/m is my new passion.

Many buffs pull you out of hide when they expire

Malignatus, you are incorrect. WSG is a party buff. If you are any type of rouge in party with R/Wd and that R/Wd hits PotWS, you will be pulled out of hide.

I did say that I don't play a R/Wd. And I don't mean to argue. But the neither description for WSG on both runesdatabase and romwiki state that it's a castable skill. Both sites show it as being a passive skill that increases the damage of POWS. I suppose both could be in error and, in that case, I'm definitely wrong.

And if the OP is in a party in Siege, he's doing it wrong. :D

Being out of parties doesn't save you from AoE Camellia. (I'm sorry, rogues!) ;-;

But yeah, this bug happens with several other buffs. Seems to be rather shoddy coding for rogues tbh since buffs shouldn't bring you out of Hide, unless it's something you casted yourself while in Hide.

Oh, I know about Camillia. When I'm playing Rogue (R/Wl) in Siege, if I'm anywhere close to a Druid casting that one, I'm probably already out of Hide and need the heals!

Call it a bug if you wish, but note also that if a Rogue in Hide happens to hit a regular heal pot, that brings them out of Hide, too. And *keeps* them out of Hide until the timed HoT ends or until it's cancelled. And any pot at all will bring them out of Hide. I guess the game considers it to be an "attack".

The problem lies in how the buff is casted/received. It is not the original caster that the game recognizes as "buffing," but the receiver(s).

If you let camellia expire and the spring flower part trigger, itll show the receiving individuals "casted spring flower eulogy"...on themselves. You can also see this evidenced on scrut. Under "healing done" you see that they "healed" themselves with "spring flower euology". So its not the druid who "casts" the end heal on them, they cast it on themselves.

Same thing with the r/wd buff. The r/wd does the effect, which triggers the party members to then "cast" the buff on themselves, thus taking them out of hide.

Ah, interesting, didn't know the client interpreted certain received buffs like that as the receiver casting it on themselves. Sounds like it would be easier to fix than I thought, in that case, without screwing over CF or the other buffs that have the same result.

Then again, knowing Runewaker...
