Fire training Causes Crippling lag

Title: Fire training Causes Crippling lag

Description: Upon using the fire training skill (from vanguard field marshal title), most players experience crippling lag due to intense graphic effects. Even those who do not lag out have a difficult time of executing strats because it is impossible to see the floor with 12 players and pets all having a ring of fire beneath them. Please remove or reduce the spell effect to something manageable.

That's weird, because I've never had any lag issues with first boss in Grotto, unless it doesn't effect easy and normal.

Personally I find fire training fine as long as its not me using it. The player who casts See's it on everyone whereas if you get it casted on you you only see it on you.

The problem with that is that then everyone complains that they want FT but wont cast it themselves.

The discussion in this thread is going into areas that are forbidden on the forum. I have removed some posts and cleaned up others but be careful what you talk about please.

Ok let me rephrase what i posted early so it matches forum rules:

Lets start making a list of all skills that cause lag and fps freeses (like ft, champ skills, warden crystal pets, etc) and report them. This way they can get fixed, because it is clearly the graphic itself that causes the lag.

You CAN shut off most effects of other players by hitting ESC-->Video & Audio Settings and then checkmarking Hide Effects of Other Players, then Accept.

I do not know or think that it removes the Fire Training Effect (the main topic of this thread) but it will remove other visual effects caused by player skills and casts (such as the visual effect of Thunderstorm).

There ARE situations when you might not want to remove those effects--such as in Siege, you're a Rogue, and you want to know where that Mage is T-storming. But in Instances, removing player effects can make a huge difference in reducing video lag--which is the main problem here.

But, as Yrcanos has mentioned, let's not discuss or otherwise promote Other Ways to do this which are violations of the EUALA and/or the ToS, mmmkay? You will NOT enjoy the outcome.

Problem with that being that it only shuts off other players' effects. Many of a players own effects lag them to crap. Just a few examples such as the champ AoE, Fire Training, even Camellia flower or MEF on occassion. When a player casts fire training themselves he will see it on every other member of the 12 person party. This causes crippling lag unless you have the model taken out. The "Not seeing other players effects" checkbox is all fine and dandy, but it only fixes a small part of the problem. It should remove ALL effects, not just other players. Or there should be a seperate checkbox to remove everything.

A) if you cast a spell on other players, you still see the graphic pop over their head. Thus if you are the person casting fire training, camellia flower, crystalline acceleration, and other graphics intensive buffs, you will lag out
B) a lot of the lag comes from boss skills which do NOT get turned off via the interface setting.
C) aoes should not have graphics intensive skills, and this is the message i am trying to pass along. Its ok for something like Illusion blade dance to have all those pretty daggers flying around because you see it on just you. When you cast an aoe buff, or the boss hits the group with an AOE, it happens on every player and pet in the raid.
