Withering Flame doesn't do correct damage

Title: Withering Flame doesn't do correct damage

Description: After this patch, withering flame no longer does a flat damage. But the damage seems to be only half of what it is supposed to be. Withering flame has more fire damage than fireball, and yet hits half as much.

If instant counts as a cast time, then Withering Flame has a cast time, too.

"Fire Damage" is on Fireball. "fire damage" is on Withering Flame. Maybe it's not getting it's modifier from the mage passive since it could be case sensitive? XD

I mean that Fireball has a 3-second cast time, so there is a 3x multiplier in the damage formula.

I believe you are thinking about Flame. Fireball is the instant cast mage secondary skill. Flame is the 3s cast mage primary skill.

doesnt fireball have an int mod as well?

a combination of lack of int mod and lack of elemental mastery would put withering flame at about half damage of fireball(approx.).

elemental mastery works...

but it's calculated strange...
Fireball hits and takes 2015 Life points.
Withering Flame hits and takes 2544 Life points.

both skills are not skilled with 2261 int

Fireball will always be able to do more damage than withering flame if level 90 or close, because i've tested many things to try and learn the magic damage formula and the value that is in the description doesnt really matter, the actual value of the level *90* fireball is actually part of the calculation in the magic damage formula since withering flame level cant come any where close to 90 its always gonna be low damage in comparison unless fireball is kept at the same low level as withering flame. soo basically

lvl 90 fireball > lvl 1 withering flame(damage will have a significant difference)
lvl 1 withering flame > lvl 1 fireball(damage will be almost equal though)

Well, that's kinda disappointing then. For the really long CD, that damage is still very low.
I guess it will still remain useless... =/
