[fixed] Restoring the Statue's Magic Circle quest

Title: Restoring the Statue's Magic Circle quest in Kashaylan

Description: This quest is a total joke, frustrating beyond words. There is no way in hell one quest should be this buggy and difficult to complete. I've managed to successfully supply the energy 7 times in a row and still can't complete. Sometimes I click the right color and it says it was wrong, then other times it works so I have no idea what is going on with this POS. I've been trying this quest for 2 hours over 2 days and still the same BS.

Just tried it again and now 8 and 9 times successfully supplying the energy and still doesn't complete and just ends. So how many times do we have to do it in a row for this quest to finish?

I had to do it successfully 10 times in a row.

What really helped me was the following procedure:

Do not target anything.
Wait for the first glow.
Click the corresponding color on the extra skill bar.
Click the pillar.

My first two tries I had absolutely no idea what to do.
But when I found this method I succeeded on the very next try.

Hope this helps.

I tried this about 5 or 6 times to get it right. The biggest key is to be a quick reactor because it can and will change very quickly. If it changes before you can use the right skill, then the next color will fail even if you get it right.

I was using the alt hotkeys instead of clicking the skills and left my mouse just over the pillar to just click once I got the right color.

It is a very difficult quest and I agree, should not be on main quest line. A lot of people struggle with it, Colors are not clear, the flareups make it hard to see what color is being used and the way they shift into each other makes picking the right color a matter of chance than skill.

I couldn't complete that quest at all, a guildie spent 5 hours working on it. I am hoping either RW redesigns it or GF will give quest completion on request.

Meanwhile, a color blind person completed it in an hour on EN side ;) Imagine how difficult it was for them.

The hot key method stated above sounds like the way to go, but I could never get my hotkeys to correctly assign to extra action bars. The method I did find that worked best for me was to move the action bar right above the pillar to shorten the distance between button and object. So far I have completed the quest on four toons, and it appears to have gotten "easier" each time...lol. But, yeah, the first time took 1/2 hour of frustration, with the World chat advice of "just keep at it".

I had no problem getting this done. I mean yeah, it can be a hassel but I rather liked and enjoyed it. Like others said you need to make sure you don't have anything selected. the biggest problem I see with it is any lag you may have. If you have any at all you will have major issues trying to complete it. Oh and trying to get it redesigned... please. They don't need to. just keep at it. I can't jump good at all. Does that mean because of that they should change things so jumping is not required for getting past to next boss in Beth? Nope. That's how the designers have it, so just keep plugging away. You'll get it hopefully soon... maybe, unless you have some lag......

Who would like to go over basic explanation about the difference between difficulty that should be assigned to a quest on a main questline and a difficulty that should be assigned to an instance room and one that is needed to be done by only one member of party anyway?

I agree, this quest was a pain in the butt to complete (even though I eventually did).

It would be better if they lower the requirement of completion to say...half? 5 successful needed instead of perfect 10.

Agreed, I gave up the first go around on this too.

I later moved the action bar to be right above the pillar to reduce the distance my mouse would need to travel. Still annoying though, needing to get a perfect 10 in a row to complete.

Rating: 2/10 - would not do quest again

I'm not sure, however I tried it on 2 different characters after the xp event and have gotten all the colors and not repaired anything, I have done the quest more than 50 times and still it hasn't completed. Did the people that completed it do it before the event ? I Know there have been quests before that seem to bug after the server is up, especially if there are lots of people doing it, Its really annoying in that I have done every quest I can but without this one I cant unlock any more quests for the XP Event. Also I can not directly target it, I have to click the skill then get the wand icon and use that even with no add-ons installed.

As A final try I Adjusted all My Graphics to max and it finished,

Don't know if this will help anyone or not .l

You can't target it at all. You need to have nothing targeted and use the skill and click on the tower in a very short amount of time.

I'm colorblind and was eventually able to complete this quest. I had to put graphics on high and zoom in to 1st person view and still took over an hour. Using the Alt+1-5 keys and keeping the mouse off the tablet when the color changed also helped. I was only able to differentiate many of the "colors" my intensity not by shade. For me the yellow/green and blue/purple look the same, I know others in my guild with had the same issue.

This is just a bad example of bad game design, in the US about 7% of males have colorblindness. If the designers insist on making a mechanic dependent on color they should give some other clue to the color like the debuff/crystals for Sydaphex (HOS).

Test your own color acuity, if the moving color box ever disappears from his video for more than a second you have some mild colorblindness and are probably going to struggle with this quest:

Watched the video Thosin, thankfully I'm not colorblind. It's amazing you could do it at all. As you suggest, it would be helpful even for us who aren't color blind if they would put a text message saying what color is showing, as well making the duration of each color last longer.

This quest reminded me (in the level of frustration) of that elite skill bag quest in coast of opportunity where you have to click one of the pirates to get a sample, then click a button that transports you inside the village where you have to click the machine, all within five seconds, but the freaking loading screen takes so long it's almost impossible. I always had to abandon the quest and wait til the next day or just go do the ones in fangers makeshift instead.

Offtop about the Coast quest: you don't have to click on the machine: after you get teleported just use the third skill right away (won't help if loading takes really long, but might if you are on the edge). Also, if a pirate is close, just on the other side of the wall next to the machine you don't get loading screen at all.

Specifically for completing this quest, I suggest:

set your numpad keys 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,6 to the hotkeys for Extra Action 1,2,3,4,5,6 (or you can use the regular number keys above the letters on keyboard). This will result in you not having to move the mouse at all.

Using the numbpad with my left and operatin mouse with my right hand made the quest much simpler to complete. After quest done, restore hotkeys to normal and move on.

OK I've made another toon that I've come to this motherfng quest and it's even worse than the first time, which is almost unbelievable in itself! Who is the fing genius who made this quest? You can't even tell when it exactly starts, the colors are not even clear, and you can't really tell clearly when it's changing a color where you're supposed to click. Then to top it all off the colors change so God damn quick you almost can't even blink.

Please move this thread back into the bugged section and report this worthless POS quest so it can either be fixed or deleted because I'm almost certain it's really bugged now. Just because some people were able to do it doesn't mean that it's not so buggy that it shouldn't be fixed or at least altered, like making each color last longer and more distinct, such as NOT having a yellow center with green glow, or purple center with blue glow, etc., so that we have no fing idea what color we're supposed to click.

This is beyond annoying as hell to put a quest this ridiculous into the main quest line! Please report this quest for deletion ASAP so we can play this game without being annoyed as hell over something so incredibly stupid.

The biggest problem is the time allocated to respond and that it often does not accept the correct response.

I have a theory that not all patterns actually work with this quest. I tried it for several days and always failed on the first 1 or 2 even though I chose the correct color. However, I did notice that the patterns are not random; they seem to repeat every 3rd or 4th attempt (I can't remember which). Once I got the first few right and could figure the pattern I was able to anticipate the next color.
