I wonder if, while you were gone, if they changed something with that skill, if you didn't do a tp reset, maybe it's bugged? I wonder if a tp reset would fix it? Though, that would be an expensive test.

According to the auto patch it was, I seem to have more hang ups and issues with the client using the game forge client. I have a few other clients I use for alts and they all have issues. Typically graphical, so I don't use them on my main toon, original client is gone now. When im getting the time I'm just wiping everything to do with Rom itself for this hdd on my pc.

That been on of my thoughts as well, they did make a lot of changes over all to the knight class by the time I came back. When I cam back I had two skills(cant remember the names now) that were wrong, one skill worked that shouldn't have because they totally changed it and the other that should have didn't. though those were fixed by removing and replacing on the skill bar. I tried that with these two skills but didn't have the same effect

k/s holy chains

Title: holy chains stuns instead of root

Description: skill description say Roots targets within a range of 150 half duration for non undead. from been hit by the skill in siege, it is not a root as i cannot use items nor skills while i have the debuff on me so for some reason it acts like a stun. also skills like w/wd awakening of the wild does'nt stop it despite it's description been renders immune to slows and root for 10 seconds and make your next attack a critical strike.

Went K/S last night in siege, chained a K/M and he still casted Fireball on me ;-( gonna double check on that to be sure in tonights siege and confirm it.

so i'm wondering what is going on with this thread as holy chain acting like a stun has'nt been reported, nor put into the not a bug category. Do you guys need more evidence or just forgot about the thread?

Evidence on what? It's working as intended just be quicker on the serestum or silence the K/S. Or stacking Mdef which can cause it to be resisted.

Thread was forgotten because lack of real testing with other players at least that what it looks like, if it was really happening like OP said there would be some video proof which others have tried to help him with. So the thread remains dormant.

Skill description states that the skill roots the target for X seconds. However, the skill actually stuns the target instead.

Stacking MDef does not increase ur chance to resist magic-oriented skills. It is Wisdom that does that, which increases ur so-called Magic Resistance. On top of that, since Chains is spammable, u will be stunned in the next few seconds no matter what. He ll simply push 111111 until u get stunned.

Well the person had the Holy chains on them for 8 seconds when they shot Fireball on me, guess you'll be blaming lag or their crappy internet but i guess that could be a reason too. :lol:
So many port all over the place in siege, it's not even funny, on our side and opponents side

Also when using Holy chains for those K/S out there who didn't know, when a group takes a tower, if the guard leader does his AOE attack, that thing has a range of a gazillion feet circumference, so it will break the Holy chains placed on players.

Zeri do you have a video or screenshot of an actual stun during Holy chains? do they have also silenced on them or other skill applied to it also.

I don't make videos, so no. However, two sieges ago I was getting chained (only k/s was there) and I couldn't even attack him when he was right next to me until he hit me. Hell, I couldn't even cast Rune Pulse or Saces' Scorn to hit him. I was just getting "Skill Requirement Error" when I had full focus (for saces' scorn) and Rune pulse doesn't take any cost.

Guess i will have to Fraps siege wars again, will make for fun videos for noobs to watch and enjoy :love:

watch closely at 10:42, as soon as player gets holy chained, all his skills get "skill requirement error" and "cannot perform physical attacks" when only debuffs are a bleed, a slow, and holy chains.

look at the combat log on the left. no outgoing damage occurs while holy chains is on him. except for briar repel, which is not his skill, and a result of the damage he takes that breaks holy chains/occurs before.

holy chains is also applied twice, both being knocked off by damage within 2 seconds of application.

the entire event i am referring occurs between 10:40 and 10:45.

seriously though, the giant red text errors in the middle of the screen don't clue you in?



if anybody wants to find other places in which holy chains are used, feel free, as there is a good chance there is a better example in some other part of the video. i just chose the first one i saw while skimming through.

edit: watching farther, 12:30 is probably the best example. he has to wait until holy chains is lifted to cast intensification. also, if he just rooted, he could have used fireball/lightning multiple times in the 20+ seconds he was rooted.
