[reported] Grotto of Horror 1st Boss doesn't reset correctly

Title: Grotto of Horror 1st Boss

Description: When 1st boss is at 40% he enrages and starts to stack up a buff that make him hits way harder. If the whole party dies, sometimes the buff does not go off. With 53 stacks he hits our 500k pdef tank for 180k+ in normal mode, and everyone else for 550k+

We've seen that happen before. Just have a rogue reset it with vanish or basically anyone to just go in and die. But yeah this shouldn't be happening.

vanish does not always reset the boss counters. the proper way that will work 100% are:
- someone enter room and die, or
- priest send a fairy or warden send a pet and run towards the exit of instance. after boss follows for some time, it will reset back with 0 counter. if u want to avoid deaths, ofc inform everyone to head towards the exit be4 u aggro boss

there is also one more major bug for 1st boss:
sometimes u get pulled and spawned under boss feet, inside of just aside it. u cannot move or escape death since at next 2secs u r killed by hates mission. its a glitch of trapping urself under texture.
its funny cause u get dead in an underground area below boss that seems like KBN corridors network. i ll post a screenshot too next time.

Yeah its really annoying when you get trapped. Had it happen a few times and then ofc you can't DPS and you wipe. The easiest way we found was just to exit party and re run to first boss. Better then getting xp debt from dying :D

To avoid being stuck under the boss, you try to run in on either side of it, not head on. I've tanked and DPS'ed it and noticed its the best way to avoid being stuck under the boss.

OFC mistakes can be made and wierd things can happen on that boss because of all the FPS issues at the start of that fight. Don't get discouraged.

Anyone else ever die in the fight and have the boss drag you around the room like his little *****. I got picked up and moved all around the room as the boss chased the last people standing after a party wipe.

Does anyone know what causes Thirst of Vengence to stack stupidly fast? It usually stacks up to 1 or 2 at most when I'm doing it on easy. But when I did it this morning it stacked up to 18 in a matter of seconds.

Does anyone know what causes Thirst of Vengence to stack stupidly fast? It usually stacks up to 1 or 2 at most when I'm doing it on easy. But when I did it this morning it stacked up to 18 in a matter of seconds.


If players are hit by "Hate's Mission" then it stacks the buff multiple times. Avoid all casted AoEs.

*Glitch* Hate's mission doesn't show on combat log or scrutinizer, combat log simple says ´´you have died blah blah blah´´
Listen to the players and improve the game
For God's sake Teleport crystals inside instances and revival site and shop outside instance entrance

also if u die from the orange mobs, u get no dmg log. u simply die ;)
i think its the boss with the most bugs all gathered on it

Also, the boss its an obstacle for heals, when tank grabs the boss and turn him around and you try to cast a heal or skill on tank from the other side of the boss you get the message of obstacle blocking your target

am not an expert in 3D graphics but will try to explain why all these happen imo. the reason for these problem is the "base" of this specific boss. is almost same issue as the one with rock-guardian transformation, where the clickable area was a very small circle and was very hard to click enemy.

now on goh-1st this clickable area is not even a 2D disc as in all rom mobs. its a weird 3D cylindrical-like object. just click on boss and watch the yellow "circle" on its feet during battle. sometimes it grows out of the ground like an obstacle resulting in blocking heals or trapping players inside this "bounding object".

Thats is what i have noticed at least and am definitely sure that it will not be fixed through 2014, "if" going to be ever fixed.
will try to get a snapshot next time i notice it

To clarify what soul said, you can cake hate mission, but if you dont get out of range of the aoe, a buff will stack on the boss. So:

drop back out of hate mission range = live and no debuff
cake hit mission, stay in and dps = live but debuff stacks.

afaik the buff stacks when you ATTACK the boss while he's casting Hate mission, a red message is displayed on the screen

cake hit mission, stay in and dps = live but debuff stacks.

I guess in a party of rogues, that ends up being the same thing, but its an important distinction for ranged classes.

I'd like to poke this, this bug is still active as we ran grotto hard and had to reset the boss atleast three times
