Mage elemental damage

Hi!
As a mage, how does one add points to fire or wind or water etc? Where do these come from? See image attached.

Those stats really don't do anything for damage out with skills so just ignore that part. I think at some point they were considering elemental skills for mages but it never turned into thing (kind of like you see a weapon level area for guns but they were never implemented into the game).

That isn't elemental damage. That is elemental resistance. There are some skills (like mages Fire ward) that increase those numbers. I don't know the calculations for elemental resist, but when you resist a spell it makes it do 0 damage to you. Its effectivly "magical dodge"

If i remember rightly - elemental resists literally just reduce the dmg you take by that amount from that element. Thereby making them useless, but could be wrong, was a long time since people talked about them.
